Kyle Severson

Board Member

The Rev. Kyle Severson serves as Lead Pastor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL. Pastor Kyle previously served as Associate to the Bishop of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, pastor of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Glenview, IL, and pastoral intern at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Lincolnshire, IL, where he was first introduced to the work of RefugeeOne. Since then, he has helped congregations grow in their understanding of the experience of refugees and co-sponsor families through RefugeeOne.

Pastor Kyle earned his bachelor’s in arts degree in Music Education from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), where he currently serves on the President’s Advisory Council, and master of divinity degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He also holds a certificate in nonprofit administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Pastor Kyle lives in Des Plaines with his husband Clyde and their two cats.
